Cold Tonight!

Posted 12/6/2011 9:45pm by Johan & Joan Osth.

Temperatures are expected to go below freezing tonight and may remain so for about eight hours. I've covered the chard, lettuces and broccoli with row cover, but that only goes so far. Plus with wind gusts as they are I wouldn't be surprised if the covers just blew right off. The crops I just mentioned can take cold weather, but it's the extended freezing point that we're worried about. I'm sure we'll experience some loss. Until the morning.....

Update!

Rows were covered with floating row cover and all did fine. No losses on the crops except for the cucumbers which were on their way out anyway.
